HIDROSTANK has supplied its HIDROBOX infiltration cells to one of the drainage works of the Green Belt of Vitoria, European Green Capital 2012. The total volume exceeds 400 m3.
The Local Government of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz, in February 2013 awarded the works of the second phase of the reform of the “Avenida de Gasteiz”, to the company Yarritu SA. The investment for this second installment finally amounts to 5,495,362.45 euros,
The transformation of the Avenida Gasteiz and its environment in key green infrastructure will address some of today’s most pressing problems and also serve to increase the overall environmental and convivial quality of the place. Interventions are raised to improve the following aspects: mobility, biodiversity, water management, energy management and the quality of public space; all aspects related to the efficient functioning of the urban system.
Regarding water management various interventions are planned to improve sewage (avoiding overload and flooding problems), and regain ecological and hydrological function of the river network. On the one hand, there is a proposal to derive the clean waters of the Batan river to Zadorra. On the other they try to restrict the entry of stormwater into sewer through the installation of urban sustainable drainage systems associated with natural depuration systems for rainwater.
HIDROSTANK has worked closely with technicians of both the City of Vitoria and the awarded bidder in the definition of the solution finally adopted.
